'Kindness is our Currency'
It was these four words that would change my life.
It started in 2018 when I was a new mom with my daughter, Ivory, we had just moved back to Canada from England and things weren't easy. I didn't know many people here in Kelowna, we were on a single income, and I was a stay at home mom dealing with anxiety.
I heard about a local charity called Mamas for Mamas who specialized in poverty relief and created an all inclusive community for mothers and caregivers. There vision, to envision a future where no mama or child is left behind.
I entered the program as a mom in need of help, support, and resources. I fell so in love with the people and everything they represented, that I decided to join as a volunteer. I helped in any way I could from handling donations, helping clients as they came in, to even holding a baby so the mom could have a break.
Eventually this turned into the role of Facilitator for Mamas Circle, a weekly group held for moms and their children that covered topics such as empowerment, self love, and relationships. We often had amazing guest speakers and generous donations to give to the group. I have been running Mamas Circle for over a year and I am now the Wellness Facilitator as well as Volunteer of the month for February 2020.
I would like to announce the natural partnership between Little Wild One and Mamas For Mamas. A % of all our profits will go to Mamas For Mamas in there dream to help all mothers, care givers and children. We also donate Toys to children who are unable to have new toys given to them due to poverty.
